Overdraft Protection Options

LINKED SAVINGS ACCOUNT

At ABCO, you can link your checking account to your savings account(s) and we will automatically transfer available funds from these accounts(s) when the balance in your checking is too low to cover an item. The first transfer is free then each additional transfer is $3.00.

OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE PAY

With our Overdraft Privilege Pay service, anytime a check, ACH, or an online bill payment transaction is attempted from your checking account and the balance in the account (and other linked accounts) is not sufficient to cover the item, we may pay that item at our discretion* and draw your account negative up to your approved limit (typically $800.00) for a fee of $30.00.**

*We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.

**In order to be eligible for the service, members must meet some requirements on a monthly basis. The requirements are as follows:

  1. Deposit at least $400.00 or more in your account within each thirty (30) day period

  2. You must not be in default on any loan obligation to us

  3. Your account can not be the subject of any legal or administrative order or levy, such as bankruptcy or a tax lien

If you meet the requirements, you will automatically be eligible for the service – there is no need to opt-in. If you do not meet the requirements in a given month, you will be considered again the following month.

Debit Card Transactions

Please be aware that debit card transactions are not automatically covered under the Overdraft Privilege Pay service – you must opt-in in order for these transactions to qualify. You can opt-in to this service by contacting Member Care or in person at any ABCO location.
