Become a Member

How do I become a member?

In order to become a member of ABCO Federal Credit Union, a person must:

  • Be eligible for membership. Browse our eligibility list to find out if your company, group, or area is eligible for membership. For questions about eligibility requirements, contact us by phone or send us an e-mail

  • Under federal regulations, you will be required to verify your identity. We will ask you to provide a valid driver's license and/or other identifying documents for you and any joint members on your accounts

  • To open your Primary Share ABCO FCU savings account (a base account is required of all members), all you need is $5.00 minimum initial deposit. This is your (1) share of the credit union. You must maintain the $5.00 in your Share Savings account to keep your membership in good standing. We no longer charge an application fee

  • Once you are a member of ABCO FCU, you are a member for life as long as your accounts stay in good standing. Your immediate family members and household members are also eligible, once you are a member

You can become a member in person at any branch office or through the mail. View our detailed step by step guide to becoming a member, or download the member application.
